Internet and E-Mail

Internet and electronic mail has become the prime method of communication for the ITPE in its daily operations.

Much is provided today on the internet and more will be provided in the future. Our members must learn to access this information.

Legislators have an obligation to respond to their constituents and you, as a constituent, must utilize this advance technology to voice your concerns to the legislators and become more knowledgeable. All members of Congress, all Departments of Government, the Pension Fund, the Health & Welfare Fund, the Annual Benefit Fund, and your area offices can be contacted instantly with your issues, questions, answers and concerns, they are only minutes away with touch of a button.

The use of regular mail addressed to your Congressional delegations have been restricted severely since 9/11. There are also delays in delivery of mail and packages, which are sent to a special facility for handling.

We, in your Washington, D.C., ITPE office, use the internet on a daily basis to keep abreast of developments which can impact ITPE members and/or affect our representation of our members. The information we obtain enriches our Union, community and public participation.
